The key is to go to the Somali shops. They make it themselves by hand. We use it on our clothes before you go out. Also get your hands on the bakhor/uunsi comb!

Bakhoor is so amazing especially when you use long lasting rich ones>>> The reason it’s better on coal is because of the temperature difference; the coal has higher heat so it produces layers of perfumes, oils and aromatics that’s inside the bakhoor as compared to electric ones that work with a regulated temperature so they heat the fragrance rather than produce the actual oils/ fragrance making the smell less intense!

It’s part of Somali culture as well , my mom, aunts , cousins have been using bakhoor on a charcoal burner for years . The Somali charcoal burner is the best.

Daily Layering Inspirations :
pro tip from an Arab man, ALWAYS use old school Bakhoor burner. when flaming the charcoal, put it first on its side standing up, have it evenly lit for 5 minutesor a bit more, then rest it down on its back. Last but not least, get an extra thin Mica plate off of Aliexpress, and place it on top of the charcoal then place the Bakhoor.
here is a layering combination with Bakhoor for ya as a gift. [Pray][Pray][Pray]

Gorgeous, what you’re using is the regular home-type oud, and it’s not that good. You need to try what’s called Oud Wood—the original, high-quality one. Trust me, you’ll smell like a princess or a queen 👑😂

The charcoal bakhoor is the most elite. I would however recommend you use a different charcoal as that particular round ones have ridiculous amount of chemicals. Get the cube charcoals, take a little longer to burn but it’s safer and lasts longer.
