What would parallax have to do with with the overall arc of the dcu? I think it’s probably just hammering down the atmosphere and the context that a lot of people are terrified of superheroes or they just hate them for all the damage they cause and the power they have. When we see what happened in rushville and how they treat John and Hal afterwards it suddenly becomes a lot more believable that the US government would allow Rick flag sr to send all the meta humans to salvation. I think that’s what Gunn is talking about

Parallax Hal will be the big bad of the Green Lantern movie. Looking at MoT casts it seems that James Gunn plans to make each main hero individual movie into a big event with many members of the JL involved. The great big bad for JL will probably be the League of Doom. We already have Luthor from Superman, Sinestro from Lanterns and Grood from the Jimmy Olsen show. Now we have a WW and Batman villains remaining.
