I prefer just making the sides the same so like x on one side and numbers on the other like “9x-5x=-16-4” and then u just solve it.If your wondering why it’s not a plus 4 or a plus 5 even tho it was a positive,I also don’t know but I was taught that when you switch sides,positive changes to negative and negative changes to positive.Ya
