I know there are a million hair-color tutorials on here, but I feel like we’re really missing the mark when it comes to EDUCATION on haircuts✂️ So here’s exactly how I do my signature butterfly layered haircut! 🦋 And don’t forget it’s ALL in the prep. I started by shampooing and conditioning her with @amika the protector to ensure color vibrancy and create a smooth, shiny canvas for me to work on. For my cutting lotion, I went in with the @amikapro the protector leave in. Guys, I did NOT expect to love this leave-in as much as I do! It gives the hair the perfect amount of slip and allows my comb and shears to glide through the hair like BUTTER 🧈 not to mention it’s gonna protect her color for up to 40 washes. For this client, I started in the back using a traveling guide. She wanted to keep her length, so I focused on bringing up her layers while simply dusting the ends. For the front, I utilized a TON of slide cutting to create that soft, flippy finish that looks so good when she blows out and styles her hair. ✨ How do you guys like the results?!
