That's kinda like the Dark Army from Mobile Suit Gundam G Fighter. The pilots are dead inside the cockpit with a bunch wires and "DG Cells" (Dark Gundam) all over their bodies.

You know, I won't have thought of Yoshitaka Amano as the mech designer until you pointed it out. And now I'm realizing its' silhouette is very similar to the magiteck armors from Final Fantasy 6.
