ok so im starting my essays soon and I need to know if this is a good thing to start with/mention. obviously it will be phrased differently but I got into geology after my grandpa got my dad into it and my dad got me into it and now I am persuing it as my career after both of them have passed away and knowing that I am making them both proud is a strong motivating force for me. i dont know if that comes across as woe is me or if it is impactful

it's all so confusing because the instructions in the applications say to "speak on the moments that drove you to the field". that moment for me was when I was a child. should I not do what it tells me to?

talking with other psychology undergrad students, I always felt kind of weird bc a lot of them that I talked to always had this deep sense of empathy and always had a bit of an interest in psychology and helping other people. When I was a child and into my early to mid teens; I was a little shit, extremely detached, and I did not really think about anybody. 😭 i gained radical empathy and need to serve and help people and my community later in life. i worry though that my reasoning is the wrong reasoning
