@eri_ajibade: “Only native Koreans should teach Korean.” I understand where that perspective comes from, but I don’t believe that being a non-native speaker automatically means you can’t be a good teacher. Being a learner myself gives me a perspective that may be different from that of a native speaker because I know what it feels like to actually learn the language from scratch, make mistakes, get stuck, and need things explained in a certain way. I don’t claim to be a native speaker, and I don’t pretend to be one. I’m simply a Korean learner who decided to share what I’ve learned with others. There is room for different kinds of teachers, and I’m genuinely grateful that so many people have trusted me enough to learn with me. 🤍
