You took time to go to an interview. Why would anyone then put themselves at a potential disadvantage when they don’t have to? Interviews not only assess your technical skills or your education. They also assess your soft skills. Like how well you communicate and make points. The judgment you have. Your self awareness. And yes, this is about how you’re perceived. The hiring team cares about their perception of candidates. And while I don’t at all support illegal discrimination, candidates need to understand they are being judged. Interviewers these days have an overinflated sense of self worth. You're job is to determine if this person is capable of doing the job effectively. That's it. I've seen numerous videos of people saying "don't ever answer this way" or "don't wear this to an interview." Now it's about how they smell. Give me a break.

I dont put any on bc the person could be are allergic to it. That is the only reason I dont hear it. My old boss is allergic to the smell of cinnamon. If its in the air it will cause a reaction.
