@rickythesteadyinvestor: What if you invested in America’s SMALLEST companies instead of its biggest ones? 📈 The Russell 2000 tracks roughly 2,000 small-cap U.S. companies. The S&P 500 tracks 500 of America’s largest. You’d think smaller companies might have an advantage: more room to grow. So I tested it. $10,000 into the Russell 2000. $10,000 into the S&P 500. Same starting date: January 2, 1996. No additional contributions. No selling. Every dividend reinvested. Then I let both compound for 30 YEARS. But I also broke the experiment into three separate 10-year periods and compared the risk each investor had to take along the way. And that’s where things got interesting. Small caps DID win during one period. Other periods told a very different story. Because having more room to grow doesn’t automatically mean better returns — and taking more risk doesn’t guarantee you’ll be rewarded for it.
