I was 5 when my parents divorced, and I know I did find it really hard. My dad kind of did the same thing your ex is doing, meeting straight into living. To be honest, I don’t really remember it because I was so young. They ended up married (divorced now) and I have very few memories of her. I think at the end of the day, like you said, you need to do what’s best for them & do what you feel is right.

As a child of divorce, my mom introduced me to my now stepdad at a “sleepover” where I also met his two kids at the same time and slept at his condo with them. I love my mom to the moon and back but I still remember being incredibly upset and confused by this and it happened 15+ years ago.

As a coparent w a stepson.. we got together at the park w everyone so it wasn’t too overbearing for the kids and I was just introduced as a friend. I ended up pregnant very early on so it was slightly different bc at that point I would be having my stepsons sibling but we’re 8 years into it and she’s my bestfriend 🖤
