Hi! I just joined your circle community (yay). I wanted to let you know I got a message from what looked like your account but as soon as I stopped fan-girling I realized that it probably isn't you. Not sure how creators handle this, but thought you might want to know. Unless you DID pm me, in that case: STARSTRUCK🥰

My inclination to fawn prevents me from doing the deeper work you describe. I’m honestly not sure if it is worth it especially if the pain is going to continue regardless.

what happens when you realize there is no reward for being good and you see that people who step on other people and do whatever they want for the almighty dollar are the ones getting ahead and there are no repercussions for their evil?

Yep. I know religion is false but came back to it because it’s a psychological shortcut that helped me all through life.

Does anybody else find more comfort in the idea that there is no explanation to why things happen (the universe is random, everything is just luck) over the belief that things happen because there’s a God with a plan? To me the latter is much less comforting. I might not like that everything is random, but I can accept it. I can’t accept that killing children is part of god’s plan.

I think suffering is a part of live and it’s our responsibility to learn to live with it. Hope never dies it can only be misplaced or forgotten. It’s there if you reach for it. For me it’s an endless cycle of: is it pathetic or courageous to hope. Slippery slope depending on the day.

The internal pain of being human reminds me daily to take nothing for granted and I try to find joy in the smallest things!

Yup losing a child and another one surviving a severe brain injury, has completely destroyed me. I already stopped believing lds years before ( husband is tbm) , 10 months from our accident and I feel I am falling into a void, I am trying to accept my life will and never can be what I desire

First step, recognize that you've become liminal: welcome to "the liminal space". The old value system has disappeared. Now you're liminal. All that French Existentialism is immediately applicable: Choice, responsibility, absurdity, art.Don't linger in the liminal space too long (not sure what that is). As Doestevsky points out so well in Notes From Underground, the risk of being liminal too long is nihilism. How bad is the nihilism trap? Not sure, but it's a risk you don't really want to find out.

Embrace uncertainity, embrace unhappiness, we are unhappy beings, we exist and survive because our unhappiness is always make us chase more and more always. Desire and cravings drive us is part of our programming to sustain life.

my loss of belief in the religion I was given, began a devonstruction journey. not just religion, but history I was taught. Even the belief thst my country was good and fought for justice. it all made me depressed. i tried mental hygienist and prescribed drugs that stopped my feelings entirely. going off the meds and just feeling everything allowed me to understand others pain. I can relate to others and find joy in little things. I want to live. purpose isnt needed. pain is with me but so is joy 😊

At this point I think our goal is just to deeply love and take care of eachother and take care of the land. It really wasn’t ever meant to be more than that but people got too dense in certain areas.

I have not lost a child but as an atheist I think that would be absolutely the most difficult thing to deal with. To carry that.. I’m not certain I could do it.. But I can no longer make up stories either.

The question is how to at least become able to sustain ourselves? With 0 energy and nervous systems being messed up to the point when you can’t do chores, hygiene and any job. What to do when you’re just stuck even having therapy, psychiatrists and researching and trying things to become at least able to earn money

Taking a more playful posture has helped me, not always but I dropped using the word "work" in therapy. Influenced by Winnecott a bit...

How have you worked with the void? I have immense fear of the void. I see it often while doing psychedelic work. I am overcome with fear.

Ugh…this was a tough listen. I am not sure I can handle the thought of making this kind of effort just to want to be here if it doesn’t eventually go away.
