Despicable Me introduced us to one of the strangest and most unforgettable families in animation. Gru begins as an ambitious supervillain with an enormous underground laboratory, bizarre inventions, an army of chaotic Minions, and one ridiculous goal after another. But everything starts changing when Margo, Edith, and Agnes enter his life. What begins as another part of Gru’s elaborate plan slowly turns into something he never expected—actually becoming a father and discovering there might be more to life than being the greatest villain in the world. Then there’s Vector, Gru’s younger and wildly overconfident rival. With his futuristic orange-and-white style, outrageous inventions, and completely different personality, Vector makes the rivalry even funnier. Gru is dark, serious, calculating, and constantly irritated, while Vector treats supervillainy like he’s the coolest person alive. Their completely opposite personalities are a huge part of what makes their rivalry so memorable. And of course, you can’t talk about Despicable Me without the Minions. Their loyalty to Gru, ridiculous behavior, strange language, and ability to turn even the simplest job into complete chaos helped make them some of the most recognizable animated characters ever. Seeing characters like Gru, Vector, Margo, Edith, Agnes, Dr. Nefario, and the Minions imagined in a realistic world makes you realize just how unusual the Despicable Me universe really is. Imagine actually stumbling across Gru’s enormous secret laboratory underneath an ordinary suburban neighborhood and discovering that all of this was happening underground the entire time. 😂 Who should be recreated next from the Despicable Me universe? #DespicableMe #Gru #Minions #CartoonsIRL - @artificialstudios2
