15 YEARS. 😭🥹❤️ And somehow, every single time I see Lee Min-ho on my screen, I understand all over again. Like… OH. THAT’S WHY. 😩❤️‍🔥 Because how am I supposed to explain to somebody who wasn’t there what this man meant to an entire generation of K-drama lovers?! I didn’t just become a Lee Min-ho fan because he was handsome. 😭🤭 Although… let’s not sit here and pretend the face didn’t help. 😩😂❤️ BUT IT WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT. It was Gu Jun-pyo. It was the attitude. The ridiculous confidence. The vulnerability underneath all that arrogance. The way his eyes could completely change depending on what his character was feeling. The way he could walk into a scene and somehow make you forget everybody else was there. 😭🥹 And then came all the different eras. Gu Jun-pyo. Lee San. Kim Tan. Heo Jun-jae. Nam Do-san. Different characters. Different stories. Different versions of Lee Min-ho. But somehow… THE EFFECT WAS ALWAYS THERE. 😩❤️‍🔥 And that’s what gets me. 15 years later, there are so many new actors, so many new dramas, so many new faces for people to obsess over and I completely understand it. But when somebody asks me who my Top 1 is? Why would I start struggling to find an answer when the answer has been sitting comfortably at the top of my list for FIFTEEN YEARS?! 😭😭😭 LEE. MIN. HO. That’s it. That’s the list. No committee meeting required. 😂 No reconsideration period. No appeal process. The position has been occupied since Boys Over Flowers and apparently the tenant has no plans of moving out. 😭😭😭🤭❤️ And honestly, what makes it even crazier is watching how far he has come. From the boy who became one of the faces of the Hallyu wave for so many international viewers… to an actor whose name can still make the internet collectively pause when a new project is announced. That’s longevity. 🥹❤️ That’s why I get protective when people try to reduce his entire career to “he’s just handsome.” BABY, YOU HAD TO BE THERE. 😭😭😭 You had to experience Boys Over Flowers when it was YOUR whole personality. You had to watch The Heirs and lose your mind over Kim Tan. You had to experience The Legend of the Blue Sea. You had to watch him disappear for a while and then return and somehow still have everybody asking: “WHEN IS LEE MIN-HO COMING BACK?!” 😭😭😭 Because some favourites are temporary. Some favourites belong to a particular era. And then there are those rare favourites who become attached to an entire chapter of your life. Lee Min-ho is that for me. 🥹❤️ He isn’t just an actor I liked. He is part of the reason I fell this deeply into K-dramas in the first place. And maybe that’s why 15 years later, I can still see one clip of him and immediately understand the assignment. 😩🥹❤️‍🔥 So yes… New actors can come. New crushes can happen. New dramas can take over the timeline. I will happily enjoy all of them. 🤭 But when you ask me who my Top 1 is? PLEASE.
