People spend hundreds on doordash entertainment and other bs a month and then complain about a depression

People complaining about not being able to save are the same people paying $800 a month for a car payment, getting a $9 latte every morning and paying for multiple subscriptions a month for streaming. It’s not a depression, it’s a spending crisis.

I have a college degree. No matter how hard I try I can’t find a job. I work as a barista and I send out applications to jobs like five nights a week. I’ve been denied jobs I have the qualifications for and I’m not saying I deserve it but my god. Even no experience jobs deny me. I have pretty good resume and an apartment and a reliable car. I have a year of experience in my field before I even graduated. It’s insane. My mom tells me I need to move somewhere nicer and save money but I can barely afford my rent and other bills with the exact same education and degree she received when she was in college. Times are not the same. The world breaking down.

I by no means make a ton of money ($35 an hour) but I still have enough to leftover every month to put into savings. That’s after my mortgage, car note, and all the other expenses. You just have to live within your means

I totally understand what you are saying and I am from a different generation I definitely don't make what most people make but I have been able to afford to have a house, pay off everything and live debt free, life is what you make it, sometimes you have to figure out what your means are and live within in them

I believe we need to have this AI bubble burst, then we’ll be there. But on the other side of it will be a much more citizen friendly country. If History teaches us anything.

I’d argue the biggest thing we will feel is the lack of children amongst the middle class. The majority of children being born right now are to lower income individuals needing assistance to raise them. Those children are statistically more likely to do the same thing. I’m not saying that’s bad or shameful, but if that ends up being the case the number of young, healthy working people paying into the system will be largely depleted. The whole basis of our Social Security system is for the young and healthy to pay for the old and unhealthy. Seems to be why there’s such a big push for people to have kids, but without improving conditions it’s going to be unsuccessful. I’m personally not having children unless I can live very comfortably and do it. With a good daycare being ~$30,000 a year for one child in my city, I don’t see how anyone can really comfortably do it.

Tbey didn’t call it the Great Depression until after. They didn’t call it world war 2 until after. You don’t know the name until after

The sad part, is hard work is never what generated wealth. It’s always been capital. Capital owners tell the people they “buy” with their capital that with hard work, you too can be a capital owner! It’s this myth that so many blue collar people believed, until recently.

Hate to say it but the only way to bring down prices is to eliminate the demand for it. As long as people are spending, the price will actually keep going up. Many people live beyond their means also, which will catch up with them eventually.
