He repeatedly scouted the store, studied its layout and security, documented his preparations online, and livestreamed the massacre. Wearing body armor and armed with a rifle, he k*lled ten people and wounded three others, including community members and security guard Aaron Salter Jr. Buffalo police convinced Gendron to surrender after he threatened to k*ll himself. He pleaded guilty in 2023 and received life without parole.
