i will be getting kfo pure silk for this top cause it's so pretty to me and i feel like i can wear it a tons! i know this isn't the most expensive yarn but as someone who only uses drops so far, this will be my first rather big yarn purchase

I get mocked at knit night for how much I knit. You make me look restrained 😂 Knitting literally keeps me sane. I think I splash out on yarn if I feel the pattern makes it a statement piece. What I’ve learned this year is that I’m a yarn diva and don’t reach for the items I knit where I don’t love the yarn. Apparently I’m a classic champagne taste on a beer budget!

I think this is a great point to make. Some projects really deserve the best yarn. Others, you can get away with a less expensive yarn especially if there is a great cheaper alternative 🤩

I testknitted the Jolie sweater so I obviously used the recommended yarn (sponsored), but I don’t think that’s necessary to get the wanted drape. It’s just a mohair and a wool/alpaca blend, so drops kid silk + maybe Daisy or Lima would give the same effect, I think. When I decide to splurge on yarn, it has to be something I know I’ll use a lot, that takes a long time knitting and will be an enjoyable process, for example the Frøya sweater, and most of the time also a sort of special occasion. Frøya was an exam gift for myself. (I’m good at finding occasions though🙈) 🫶🏼

Im also the same, but I also think about if it’s next to skin or a turtle neck. I then choose a softer yarn, like cashmere or merino
