Growing up with four brothers, meals were a sport. Fast hands, full plates, no leftovers. I ate quick and I ate a lot-not because I was that hungry, but because slow meant gone. Nobody teaches you that a habit like that doesn’t just disappear when you grow up and have your own kitchen with a full fridge. It lives in your body. So there I was in my 40s-six kids, perimenopause, a pantry that was never going to run out still eating like the food might vanish. Still thinking about the next meal before I’d finished this one. That’s food noise. And it’s almost never about hunger. It’s an old survival story your brain never got to close out. Here’s the part that changed things for me: you can’t out-discipline a nervous system that doesn’t feel safe. You have to actually tell it it’s safe consciously, on purpose, over and over. → I am hungry (before you eat) → I am nourishing myself (while you eat) → I am complete (when you’re full-don’t skip this one) → And the big one: Food is abundant. I am safe. There will always be more. But the piece I underestimated for way too long? My hormones. In perimenopause, my stress and mood were swinging hard, and that turned the volume UP on all that old scarcity panic. The Hormone pack is what I lean on to support hormone balance, mood, and stress-so my body has a steadier baseline for that rewiring to actually take hold. The conscious thoughts do the work. Balanced hormones are what make them stick. Slowing down at the table wasn’t about eating “better.” It was about finally believing the food would still be there. And it always is. If you know this feeling, comment Hormones and I’ll send you what’s in the pack I use. #womenswellnessjourney #Perimenopause #hysterectomyrecovery #balancinghormones #midlifeglowup
