@goatcult.media: In the early hours of June 6, 1996, Darlie Routier called 911 from her family’s home in Rowlett, Texas. Her sons, 6-year-old Devon and 5-year-old Damon, had been stabbed. Darlie told authorities that an unknown man had entered the home, attacked them and escaped. Darlie herself had injuries, including a wound to her neck. Investigators eventually rejected her account and accused Darlie of attacking the boys herself. She maintained that an intruder was responsible, but in 1997 a jury convicted her of the murder of Damon and sentenced her to death. She was not separately tried for Devon’s death.
