Less Mess Declutter Coach🇨🇦 :
I have reddish blonde hair and freckles, and am hyper mobile, have late diagnosed ADHD. And I always need extra freezing at the dentist. Lots of odd allergies as I age. No diagnosed EDS though.

I get incomplete numbness, and shorter lasting. It’s also takes longer to take effect. It sucks.

My dentist gave me "max" amount of local anesthesia for 4tooth removal (to get braces) of which I kept saying I felt everything and they said they cant do anymore so I then had 4 teeth removed while conscious and feeling everything

So that's why I was fully awake and the whole time they were embolising my uterine fibroid. Not even drowsy. Just bored and singing along to the surgeons' playlist

my last anesthesiologist notated my chart, "it was like drugging up a rugby team full of redheads." I relay those words now and haven't woken up from a procedure since. heds, veds crossovers, mcas & pots.

My dentist was upset when he gave me 2x the normal amount of Novacaine and I could still feel what he was doing and needed more. He did not believe me when I said treat me like I have red hair. I will need more., it’s very frustrating not to be believed!!!

I remember when I was very young my dentist refused to believe that I wasn’t numb when he was wanting to pull a tooth so he just did it anyway. I was screaming and crying and he just kept telling my mother I was being dramatic. Been suspecting I’m hypermobile (probably even hEDS) for a while now :/

Yes! Several years ago while getting a crown, I could still feel them working. I believe it took 4 (maybe 5?) shots before they could work on my tooth. The dentist, normally a seemingly nice man, was super annoyed with me by the end. Just what you want in someone about to give you a crown. I don’t think be believed me. I kept apologizing. The whole experience was terrible.

It takes me 6-7 shots. Also when I have my kids, the epidurals did not work. I had a procedure on my leg and wisdom teeth removed and both times woke up halfway through.

I have dental PTSD due to numbing meds not adequately working and dentists not believing me. I have woken up during 2 colonoscopies, while the dr was sewing in the battery pack of my spinal cord stimulator, and during an endoscopy procedure. Yep, hEDS definitely messes with anesthesia!

I actually had a pain doctor tell me I'd be the only person in the world lidocaine didn't work for, when I asked for a backup plan if it didn't work per normal during a procedure. 😕

I have woken up twice during surgeries and required more pain numbing you wouldn't think that is a lot of times but to wake up mid surgery is terrifying.

This! I had shingles on an incision site and the doctor was injecting lidocaine and it wasn’t helping. The doctor chewed me out for lying because there is no way I should be able to feel anything after those shots. Same issue with dental injections.

Ok….i feel like I’m the only one that is opposite of this 😩 I need almost nothing due to how sensitive am to medication. My docs give me child size or half doses of meds. I take forever to wake up after surgery or even twilight.
