@larry80s: It was an honor to attend and speak at Syd’s celebration of life service on Monday in Northern Virginia. I’ll eventually post the video of the speech I gave. As emotional as it was, I referred to Syd’s “we can do hard things” slogan to carry me through. In the speech, I underscored how incredible her 26 years were. But, like a brilliant comet in the sky, it’s tragic that it wasn’t longer. I talked about her trip to the sand caves in Utah. And I mentioned 3 people whose inspiration is intertwined with how I view Syd’s legacy: Ryan White, Maren Morris, and Maya Thompson. It’s been 6 weeks since her passing and I still can’t fully grasp it.
