TOLIET PAPER like the good kind. Every new mom I’ve bought toilet paper for is so thankful because they ran out and were too tired to remember they were out of their usual brand. And suddenly have 12 more rolls because I get a giant pack. I’ve received texted at 2am that I was a life saver. Standard household goods are a great thing to get new moms I’ve found

I make two bags 1. Gripe water, cotton swabs, wet wipes, and a few things she picked for baby 2. Peri bottle, dermaplast, witch hazel pads, tylenol, adult diapers/underwear, ice pads, and her snack of choice. She needs just as much love as the baby. If she breastfeeds I get lanolin and milk bags.

I make a bug out bag of the baby things you’ll need at 3am when the baby is screaming and you had no idea you’d need a certain nose sucker, gas reliever, saline spray, baby safe Vicks, etc. it’s not a sexy fun gift, but it’s what you need 😂

When I had my first baby, my best friend sent me nipple cream. Since then, I’ve sent it to every new mom as soon as they have their baby and something else I know they would like. I’ve also bought the boy mom’s disposable changing pads, because those boys have no control over their pee. (My best friend only had girls and when she changed my son, he peed all over her. 😂 I kept saying “You’re going too slow”)

My mum’s rule is you should get the baby a 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 12 month outfit, and a bath book. Then each parent should get a small gift and the birthing parent should get something a little extra.

My friend gave me a whole basket of after birth essentials. Tylenol, Advil, giant pads, a water bottle, a notebook to write down feeding schedules, witch hazel, peanut M&Ms (best breastfeeding snack imho) it was very thoughtful and very helpful

My mom and myself brought my sister in law, stool softeners, fibre gummies as well, I made kale/bean chicken soup because it’s packed with good stuff (you gotta like kale though) and baby meds for that first inevitable fever

my sister in law I got her a cozy robe, tea and new mug that supposed to help with going to the bathroom, and snacks that she’ll like and lastly a book with everyone’s schedules and phone numbers saying it’s ok to call if you want to chat or if you want a person over, and we all chipped in for them to have a year pass of casco with free shipping .
