Free flying without any leash is genuinely the most difficult training ever. 😭 You have to trust your bird, and more importantly, your bird has to trust you a lot to fly back to you as they recognize that you are their safe space. Takes a lot of training and love. Even I correct my girl when she is being bitey and naughty but she still comes back to me cause she trusts me. Birds, animals and people need to be corrected when needed. Again as long as you dont hit your bird for no reason, and you correct the behavior at the right time, negative reinforcement/punishment is acceptable.
