I’ve heard the opposite about interview clothes, that I’m supposed to show up in nice clothes! Maybe I’ll pack scrubs in my bag for just in case 😁

Oh this is wild. A decade in the medical field and I’ve never worn scrubs to an interview, always business casual. My shadow shifts have always been on a different day, after orientation but before first day on the floor.

i feel so silly asking this but when you’re shadowing as a nursing student how would you introduce yourself? because we aren’t doctors so i wouldn’t say good morning/afternoon im dr last name so should i just say my first name and that im a nursing student?

Given the comments, it may be appropriate to just ask. Will there be a tour of the unit, a shadowing period, or would that come at a separate time and then make a decision on attire. I agree that an interview should be biz casual but also see the scrubs/shadowing a benefit to both parties.

At my hospital they do an interview and then shadow as well!They told me to wear scrubs or business casual so I ended up just wearing nice clothes and then changing into my scrubs after the interview. I’ve only ever been at one hospital though so i don’t know if that’s common practice else wear

The interviews I’ve been on in my 10 yrs all say business casual. Where I’m at shadow shifts and interviews are two different things and happen on different days.

*If the interviewer says dress business casual ofc defer to what they say [Red heart] if they don’t tell you, you can make the choice of biz casual or scrubs but at a minimum I’d bring the scrubs just in case

The scrubs would 100% be on the manager, that’s on them to specify if there’s a shadow involved. I would never show up for an interview in scrubs unless told to..
