As someone who works for a company that makes this, yes they are the exact same. We do not make a batch of say cetirizine for one company and then use a different recipe for a different brand. We have one recipe for that, and many other generic OTC Drugs. We simply make it all the same, put it in our warehouse to store it, and slap a different label on it based on who places their order. We just label it and ship it based on when the orders come in, but it's all the exact same recipe. Also, the expiration date does not apply to only the active ingredients. The FDA controls every aspect of our production. So every single part of what your buying has an expiration date, and we have to put that date for whatever expires first. That could be the ink on the label, the ink on the box, or the box itself. If you see a generic brand that says compare to "insert name brand" it is required to have the identical formula for the name brand. We also sell our products to most name brands when the name brand fails an inspection because most of them are made in other countries and the translation gets lost so the FDA will fail the name brand. Then we take that product that would get a generic brand slapped on it, and slap a name brand label on it instead. It's literally all the same. I've watched Dollar General ibuprofen and name bran ibuprofen get labeled off the same skid. So save yourself the money and buy generic!!

CVS is a ripoff for everything. EVERYTHING. Drugstores use to be a preference because they were reliable and less expensive, but it’s not the 80’s anymore. The conglomerates are as bad as private equities or big pharma.

They do it with food too. I worked at grocery store. The “off brand” is the same at every store. It comes from the same source just packaged differently for each store. We pay based on stores, name brand, etc. For the exact same 💩
