@drsherrymaxy: You thought becoming a mother would help you understand your own mother. But sometimes, raising your children makes you realize just how much you needed from her. And suddenly, you're not just parenting your child. You're grieving the little girl who never received the same love, patience, and care you're now giving so freely. ❤️ #MotherWound #EmotionallyImmatureMother #AdultDaughters #Motherhood #MotherDaughterRelationship

I don’t understand, thought I did but then I became a mother and I’m so hurt and mad. She would always tell me I would never graduate school, make me feel stupid for grades being lower than my brothers, she’d say I’d be a highschool dropout and end up as a teenage mom. Why would she say those things to me :( then I prove her wrong, I grow up and she wants nothing to do with my girls , only pics for Facebook tho. Years later my sister has her first baby and she treats them with so much love and puts them first . Me and my daughters never received that from her….. I couldn’t help the feelings of hurt and pain feeling worthless, I had to remove myself from there so my daughters would not be hurt later on once they got older and started understanding things for their own, with their own eyes…. they don’t deserve that hurt .

My mom use to say “I hope you have a daughter just like you!!” When she was frustrated with me. I tell my daughter “ I hope you have a daughter just like you” when I’m staring in awe of her beauty and kindness… same words. Completely different meanings.

As her daughter I forgave. As a mother I could never and I’m judging her

I always wish I was my own mother. I get jealous of my son that he has me as a mother (I don’t know if that makes sense because I am his mother and I’m being jealous that I’m his mother 😂) but I just wish I had someone who puts me first and considered me as much as I do with my child. Mum wounds are soo deep

My daughter forgot to get her permission slip signed by me for a field trip. I went to the school and signed it before they left the school. My mom said she would've never signed and I would've just learned a lesson to better prepare. My daughter knows I will have her back even if she forgets which is HUMAN 😁

I just don’t think my mother ever loved me as much as I love my daughter and that makes me so sad

As soon as I had my son my eyes started to open about her and I started resenting her because as a mother I don’t understand.

I look at my son and I am constantly thinking of what I can do right, I ALWAYS apologize when I’m overstimulated and burnt out. My only question, why does it feel so hard to say sorry? I do it everytime but it feels so uncomfortable 😣 😔

Having my daughter made me realize that I don’t want to hit her. And why did my mom and dad hit me? Why didn’t they apologize to me? Why weren’t they just kind?

I remember an argument with my mom where she said “I hope your daughter never speaks to you the way you do me” & all I could say was “I hope I never make her feel the way you made me feel”.

My mom would give my brother something, look at me and ask me, “jealous?”…with a smirk on her face. It’s such a wound for me that my two babies will never ever know what’s it’s like to feel like their in competition with one another
