I agree with sheick. A good example here in my country nigeria precisely the north we have a police like people called “hisbah” they arrest young kids and women for doing the bare minimum e.g dancing or for men growing thier hair too much and get flogged and tortured for days then asked to pray hundred of prayer before they get released. Guess what happens they end up leaving the muslim ummah in the north and move to another state where eveeything is permissible and then get from bad to worse. And at least when they were in the north they try to hide there wrong doing or have a degree of shame because they are all surrounded by majority muslims. And this make islam look authoritative and harsh in the eyes of soo many young muslims. Some ended up leaving islam when they get tortured by this people.
