Now that I'm 73, I look back & realize that my body has surely aged, & not to the positive. Occasionally, I wish I looked & felt as good as I did when I was young, but mostly I have always accepted the fact that in this Fallen World the years we put on will show signs of our aging. Mostly, I'm grateful that I've been relieved of the chronic pain I suffered for so many, many years. That means that my doctors prescribe pain patches that are narcotic. After so much pain I'm truly grateful! Millions of people continue to suffer with no hope of relief. (My life was not worth living for many years. I felt like I was a burden to my loved ones). So, though I'd rather I wasn't on so many medications, I'm truly grateful for the relief these meds provide. I am treated for pernicious anemia by giving myself a B-12 injection every month. Without treatment, I would suffer severe physical & mental deterioration. My stomach cannot process protein. I have other conditions as well, but God has blessed me with help. So, when I glance in the mirror & see a faded version of myself, I remind myself that some people die very young. (My own sweet Dad died on his 39th birthday). But best of all, I have God's Promise of a perfect body for Eternity. Our Lord Jesus suffered & died to Save me, & all of those who Accept His Grace will eventually live on a Perfect Earth, with Perfect Bodies, & Perfect Peace. There will be NO more tears or suffering! Every member of my original family has passed on, & I've lost dozens of close family & friends. How I MISS them! Though Grieving is a necessary part of Loving in this life, Love carries such significant Joy, that there is not one person I've grieved who didn't grant me Joy beyond the Weight of Sorrow. Sadly, many others in this world are born to suffer ill health & chronic pain from birth, with no solution! My goodness, Torchy, I seem to be thinking a great deal today! I've thought of deleting this diatribe, but I've decided to push Send. Sending you so much Love & Gratitude for all of the Joy you've given me. I love you, my Dear Friend! 💗 Susie. p.s. I realize that your remarks about your feet having changed is not vanity or self pity.
