with regular coke, that's actually a delicious barbecue sauce if you sweeten and reduce it. I make a dr pepper peanut butter black bean chicken chili thats off the charts. you saute chili and onion then melt the peanut butter and deglaze with the soda to make a peanut chili sauce, before you add the seasoned beans.

I mean... I make BBQ sauce with cola, ketchup and seasonings if that's all I have on hand, but .. I don't put it in the pan, I put it on the chicken

Actually coke and ketchup are awesome if you make a ham for Christmas. A slow cook for a few hours and then in the oven. Amazing.
