This means proprietary documents are getting leaked by people who don’t understand that what they set to “Public” can get indexed on Google. And this is being used to game SEO. Within NotebookLM, you just start a conversation, then click on Reports. Click Document. Choose one of these. Give the prompt for the report you want to create. You'll get something like this. Click Share. Then “Notebook Access:” Public. Then what SEO operators are doing, they're driving backlinks to their NotebookLM posts, they're sharing them on social media, they're putting them into indexing tools. This is an SEO loophole and a privacy risk that will probably get patched very soon. This has already happened with Claude, it's happened with ChatGPT, happened with tons of other LLMs, got patched in days. But the crazy thing is even when it's patched, google might not crawl the updated version for years, so it could stay indexed. This exact thing is happening with Claude.
