I haven’t watched this show but I think I could relate to the kid. I used to be so optimistic about my future as a kid and I had above average grades but I was obviously different and everyone but my mom made me wanting to have a good future a joke.

AJ could only imagine his own potential when he was living in slacker delusion. Once that depression set in, he couldn't fathom believing in himself enough to go to Harvard. His story was tragic. I personally loved him but most people hate his character bc they don't wanna empathize with a nepo baby that's "got it all"
