@mothershipsg: "Every job is honourable, and everyone has their own journey," Clergg Lee said referring to those who may judge her occupation. Speaking to Mothership, the Gen Z Filipina says she views her current occupation as a stepping stone towards her dreams. "The journey has been challenging, but it has also taught me to be stronger, more independent, and grateful for every opportunity," she said. #mothershipnews

This is typical of the generations who were promised so much by the educators. Get a degree they say and the world is your oyster! There are a great many students looking for work based upon the qualifications and many are debt laden. I applaud this young lady for taking on the challenge and for supporting the family. Things will get better but it will be by your own hand. Don't give up, your dreams are important.

you can dream big, but a corrupt shameless government like the Philippines will keep you small no matter what you do.

I have graduated Bachelor of Law. Due to my country situation I am working at Singapore as a Cleaner. It’s okay as long as still can survive and can support my family.

When I see foreign workers doing 3D jobs, coming from thousands kilometres away, I just wonder does their government has NO conscience, effort & will to improve their own people’s economy, so that underprivileged class don’t have to travel far from home just to do simple job with a decent pay 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Keep praying. Never give up. God will not disappoint you. Seek and you shall find, ask and you shall receive...
I prayed for something everyday and after 23 years, God finally answered my prayers and I'm now the most happiest. 😊

Work is work, at least abroad there is dignity in labor, in the PH it is always status but the pay is always meager.

We have a domestic helper who looked after my dad. She spent her nights studying to upgrade herself. My dad passed on and she is now in Finland working in a nursing home and recently promoted. She has settled down there nicely. Feel happy for her. 🥰

Dont let others judge you. You do what is necessary for you and your family's survival as long as you don't break the law. Your conscience is clear and God is your witness. Birth and death is common to all of us. Everything is a cycle. Our past, present & future is all connected within the symbolic circle.🙏🙏🙏

my wife's cousin worked as a helper in Singapore. she was required to wake up and stay awake 18 hours a day, no break days, she is also not allowed to have lunch. only dinner. and she isn't allowed to eat until the owners wife get home. the owners wife is Korean. anyways. she quit after 2 months and lost 30 lbs.

im a college graduate too, some people they look down on me because im working as a helper, and they think they can belittle me because im a helper! bit sorry to say, i've only respect who respect me, i fightback oncei disrepect me because u thinking u r superior than me.! my agent once told me, whatever ur status in philippines dont bring here because here u r a maid u have to obey. i swallowed my pride i said yes! but when i started to work my boss just gave me 4 hours sleep, can'y rest in a day time, 2 slice of bread in the morning, noodles at luch, 2 spoon of rice and 1 kuning fish at night! nonroom to sleep on must wait the boss will sleep then i can rest but the boss sleep 1am then i can only sleep then need to wake up 5am! same routine! after 2 months i asked to find a new employer they dont want me to go, my boss underestimate me he think i will obey him de doesn't know i already plan how to escape! and yes i succeed to eacaped..then when we saw each other in mom. he told me u u look innocent but u r clever! then i found a new employer.. she treated me like a family..she told.me, u r my helper, not a maid or a slave. on that day i never let anyone look at me that they r superior because im just a helper!
