I carried health insurance on my step kids because their mom worked jobs that helped her be at home and my husband paid child support that helped her live just fine doing this, always bought school clothes/supplies on top of that and anything that was needed in between, she also had an amazing family who helped her and loved her babies. Me carrying insurance helped them get braces that Medicaid will not cover. Whatever is best for the kids is all that matters STOP being petty and jealous that the other spouse moves on and does well in life with someone else

I (with my union) negotiated a 100% employer paid monthly dental and medical premiums and I’m BONUS mom. My husband was forced to carry to insure the kids so we got married and I got them covered. Who cares how the children are covered as long as it isn’t an unjust burden on the families and it’s in the best interest of the children.

I wish my ex-husband married a woman who cared about my kids. Instead she trash talks me on social media and I have been nothing but kind to her. I get random texts from my ex’s phone about when the last time I talked to him is, clearly he’s telling her things to make her mad at me.

My job offered insurance that I could add my bonus children on. My husband's job did not offer affordable insurance to do that. He was already court ordered to pay $1200 a month plus sport uniforms, fees and equipment that she made them play and provide health insurance if it was affordable. I legally added all 4 of his children to mine and it only cost me $100 every paycheck ($200 a month) His ex took him to court to for more child support so she could afford co-pays and other nonsense. She refused to use my insurance, with 0 copay or prescription costs that the children were already covered on. It backfired on her. Not only did the judge reduce his child support to $800 a month and reversed the all of the sport funds, she was court ordered to reimburse me half of what I was paying for their coverage on my insurance. She then refused to allow him visits with the children, claiming I was a controlling bitch and she didn't trust me. She wouldn't even allow him to come to her house without me to spend time with them. Her stipulations were for him to leave me, for me to drop the children off of my insurance, for him to go back to $1200 + sport financing, and unaffordable health insurance. The selfishness and control is ridiculous.

My ex husband had two kids with his ex when we got married and I put them on my insurance their mom said she would rather them have no insurance than be on mine 🤦🏼♀️

I loved having cases with this judge as a child welfare worker. He really knows his people in the county and is very fair and unemotional in his rulings.

I provide the insurance for my bonus boy. His mom has never been mad about that. His father helps pay for it, we’re married and handle our finances together. My son is also on that insurance.. it was more affordable for the boys to be on my insurance and my husband to get his own through his employer.. and my insurance is better. Who cares? Your child has insurance

My current husband carries insurance on my kiddos on his policy AND they’re covered under Tricare through their dad. So they are double covered and nobody has an issue because it’s less money out of pocket when shit hits the fan.

This is in Michigan you can have 2 insurance which the first is BCBS and then secondary would be Medicaid. Doesn’t matter if it’s coming from stepmother or stepfather. The address they used is where the kids live the most which is with the mother. Since I had 50/50 I could use my address.

I had my step children on good vision and dental insurance. When I switched employers I decided to keep my son on my vision and both kids on dental but not my step children and the reason why is because their Dad had made several threats to leave or divorce and I decided he could figure everything out for them himself..... he's not keeping up with appointments and the dental appointment the girls had he knew about but decided he didn't want to go and thought I would take them...now he's having to reschedule but he hasn't done it yet

I put my step children on my health insurance just to spite the baby momma! she talked 💩 about me so much that i wanted her to say my name any chance I got! taken the children to doctors, eye exams, dental ect she had to say my name, my relationship to the children! I was glorious
