You get over the hurt, but you never forget. Everything that used to remind you of them still does. The songs, places, foods, etc. I sometimes get a big wave of sadness & sometimes it’s not even mine I feel. I have moved on but nothing is fufilling anymore, I don’t care to be loved by anybody. I don’t care to get to know anybody like I did them. This may be still speaking from emotion but being such an in depth person has really set me back & I’ve finally realized I’m better off alone because I will never love how I loved once.

Please note everyone is different, i dated someone from 2009 to 2012, it was most beautiful relationship i ever experienced, it took me 4 yrs to stop misisng her, to wonder what she was doing, thinking about her often and seeing things that reminded me of her having dreams making feel emotional, but for me now 2026 i dont miss her, i dont care what she is doing, and i dont love her anymore, BUT I HAVE NEVER FORGOT HER!! WHY BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER MET SOMEONE EVEN CLOSE TO HER VIBE HER PERSONALITY. i got married 2016 and had kids, i am still with my wife and kids. but every once in a great while i remember my ex GF evangelina 2009-2012 and just smile and then go on about my day.

Yeah… I never thought my feelings would subside like this. I didn’t force myself to let go or decide that I was done loving him. Somehow, little by little, the feelings just became quieter. It’s strange to realize that someone who once occupied so much of my heart can still matter to me, yet no longer has the same hold over me.

I never experienced real heart break until that winter night and I couldn’t stop crying. I talked about marriage, children, living together, all for it to be shattered with his reality. I hope he’s okay, but my heart physically did break that night…
