This happened to my son. He was groomed for 3 weeks. When the threat came through, he immediately came to me and told me. I’ll never forget it. Needless to say I lost my sh*t on the pos that started the whole thing via text of course bc they wouldn’t respond to my calling. But needless to say, I’ll be forever thankful my son came to me.

My son was 18, this exact story happened to him!!! He sent money, they kept asking! I was home when they called again, and I got on the phone told them I sent screenshots to our local cybercrime officer! Never called back!!

This happened to my son and he did come to me. I called the police. He didn’t want me to call but I told him I have to protect him. We did not pay! We did talk to our kids about this before it happened, but they are young and so trusting. Thank goodness, it just stopped, however my son’s photo is out there still. He learned a huge lesson.

This happened to me within the last year and a half and I immediately hung up. I called the cops told them what was going on and they told me that it was just a scam to get money and that they won’t be able to do any of that luckily that was true and they ended up leaving me alone.

This is why you need to be comfortable about talking about sex with your kids having an open dialogue and not shaming them for anything. You can have a serious conversation, but it has to be one that they’re comfortable having.

Happened to my son as well, he came to me in shear panic and I helped him with this, thank God he came to me for help!! He learned from it and I learned from it. it's so sad when boys think they can't go to a loved one for help.

this happened to me in 2017 or 2018. he sent me my mom and who he thought was my dad's (it was my uncle) Facebook profile. i immediately called my mom and dad and told her what happened. she helped me through it and sorted everything without her who knows what I would've done

Actually do not report it to the online platform until you reported it to law enforcement so that a preservation request can be done to preserve the evidence. If you report it to Facebook and the account gets taken down before law enforcement can do the preservation request then there will be no data to retrieve

This happened recently with my son. Like 3 weeks ago. The person threatened to post on FB and to send to me and his father. The person actually did text me with my son. My son called me immediately and told me what he had done - sent a pic of himself and that he had called the police.

Children make mistakes…..that’s just a fact of life. That’s why I have always made sure to remind my boys that no matter what happens they can always come to me and I will ALWAYS help them. Teach them that the mistake is not the problem, the real problem starts when you try to go it alone. You are never alone in this world, I will always be your father and I will always be there.
