I was in a comment section advocating for disabled people and someone commented calling me ableist, saying “it’s people with disabilities, not disabled people” - you can’t win.

I agree that shift in movement to the right is due in part to a mindset and black and white morality from some on the left. I also think a lot of it is based in right leaning fearmongery and a “common sense-ifying” of issues that are actually quite nuanced, because it presents as a logical path of least resistance, which is appealing. And the media does not strike a fair balance in terms of reporting and representation of left/right beliefs. People have forgotten that two truths can exist at the same time.

I genuinely feel right wing. I’m not but I’m not your perfect ideal left wing green supporter and I feel so far from them and just gravitate more and more towards the right. I am not voting restore reform or greens.

The problem with the left is that you are either have far left views or you're classed as Right wing. For example, my wife (definitely left wing) was called a right winger by her colleague because she said she doesn't understand the "hyper" about Palestine when there are other wars and genocides happening across the world which nobody is talking about... so apparently caring about all wars equally makes you right wing, but caring about one war obsessively makes you left wing [Tears of joy]

If you reject everyone that brings nuance or differing opinions Youre only going to push them one way. In every other party intra-party debate is normal is encouraged we call those divisions that drive the arguments factionalism and theyre vital because they channel conflict constructively.

Completely agree. People on the left sometimes forget that for left wing politics to ever make meaningful change, you need to bring a range of people from all walks of life to your side. Unless there is a majority for your ideas, nothing will be done. Compromise and collaboration is vital. For example eco protestors blocking the road for commuters rather than tatgeting just those responsible, they will only piss off the people they need to vote for parties pushing change.

this is one of the reasons I stopped voting for the left, the other was the fallout of the Brexit vote. I voted to Remain like all of my friends and family but when the leave result was announced they started to shame those who voted Leave and said we needed another vote because they didnt get the result they wanted, it made me realise they dont care about democracy when they dont get their way, which is just fundamentalism and tyranny dressed up as progressive politics. I was brought up that you vote for you want and respect those who vote differently than you and you get on with your life. so I'm happy to see the Left eat each other.

This is what I say about Reform/Restore voters - you have your portion that does share those beliefs but I think there’s a huge portion who vote for them because they’re not considered ‘left wokies’, not because of their policies

Left leaning: voted labour mostly. Last voted for greens.. but on a fundamental level, as I’ve learnt more about some of their policies and the way they do things. (all of the in-fighting) I don’t think I will vote for them again… I don’t think I would vote for labour either, they seem pretty gutless on a number of issues that are really important! So do I vote conservative or reform??
