I almost died in April. If I did my wife would have got my 6 figure portfolios from my isa and my SIPP. Thats why I do this. That she is taken care of if anything happens to me

I'm with you on this always have been and it gives me comfort knowing that if I live a long time great, if I don't my family are going to be financially fine 👍

I work on the logic that I'll probably live until 80s as both parents are still going. but if I die tomorrow my pension will give my kids a great start in life.

also i think if that did happen whatever I have is to make my husband and daughters lives easier so still worth doing. I'm the bigger earner and don't want them to struggle if I'm not here

Balance is key and often over looked by those chasing financial freedom. My retirement plan is 7 years away at 54 and I’m happy with that. I could continue to push the investments and bring that down to 51/52 but balance is telling me to start enjoying life and live in the present.
