Posting on social media, Frankie Lapenna questioned: “Is the end near? Or do we still stand a chance.” An accompanying video of the fight appeared to answer that in seconds. Mr Lapenna recently went toe-to-steel-toe in an MMA ring against Rek Robotics’ ‘Rekbot’, which looks like something from the Terminator franchise. After seeing the size of the robot, one onlooker told Mr Lapenna: “I’m scared for you.” While the influencer landed a few good early shots, the robot eventually found its footing and landed several devastating kicks to his body, sending Mr Lapenna to the mat. The video ended with Mr Lapenna seemingly unable to get up, but according to Rek’s official X account, the influencer “kept going and defeated” the mechanical menace.
