48-year-old mom competing in the Masters ①【Balance Beam】 Score: 8.150 1 fall 😗 Gymnastics Japan Open 2026 was held in Tachikawa, Tokyo, bringing the competition back to Tokyo this year! 🤸‍♀️ This was only my 5th day practicing cartwheels on the high beam after bringing them back. I hadn’t had enough practice yet, so the risk of falling was still pretty high. But I managed to land the cartwheel! 😭❤️ I was so relieved… only to fall during a back handspring-like backward roll. 🥲 I was wobbly throughout the routine, and since I don’t have many skills to begin with, I need to make up for it with my dance elements. Next year, I want to work on reducing those wobbles and improving my stability. 🥹 I’m just so happy that I was able to bring back my beam cartwheel after 3 years! 🥺 After a long rehabilitation journey with shoulder impingement syndrome, being able to perform it again means so much to me. (Last year, I couldn’t do cartwheels, so I only had a few skills, like a dismount, turns, and balances. 🥹) Now that I’m finally free from the pressure of the Masters competition, I’ll spend the next year training hard for next year’s competition!
