Her hair was damp, brushed back, and her usual intimidating presence had softened into something calm and effortlessly pretty. ​In the bedroom, she found Oom resting in the middle of her large, comfortable bed. Oom had pulled the thick duvet up to her chest, eyes closed, breathing softly as the exhaustion of the day finally caught up to her. ​Looking at the girl nestled in her sheets, Bam couldn't help but smile, a genuine tender expression that reached all the way to her eyes. ​Quietly, Bam walked out to the kitchen to cook a warm meal. "Mmm, it's really good, Bam." ​"Good," Bam l taking the next bite for herself using the exact same spoon, eating together off the one plate. ​Oom watched her with a shy smile, her chest filling with sweet warmth. "You're sharing with me?" ​"I'm eating with my wife," Bam answered casually, offering another spoonful to Oom without breaking eye contact. "Is there a problem?" ​Oom's heart skipped a beat, her ears turning pink as she swallowed the porridge. "No, no problem at all." ​After they finished, Bam handed Oom her pain medication and the glass of water. Oom swallowed the pills, letting out a soft sigh as she sank back against the plush pillows. ​Gently taking the empty glass away, Bam adjusted the duvet, tucking Oom in securely up to her shoulders, making sure the cool air wouldn't reach her scrapes. ​"Rest now," Bam whispered, pressing a soft, lingering kiss onto Oom's hair, right below the white gauze. ​Oom smiled sleepily, feeling completely safe and cherished. She closed her eyes as the room fell quiet, listening to the soft rustle of sheets as, just minutes later, Bam lay down beside Oom under the warm covers. ​Thinking Bam would remain quiet and composed as usual, Oom snuggled deeper into the pillow, her voice a barely audible, sweet murmur into the dim room. ​"Goodnight, baby." Oom whispered as she drifted off. ​"Goodnight, baby," Bam whispered right back against her ear. ​Before Oom could even open her eyes in surprise at the sweet pet name, Bam reached across, gathering Oom gently into her arms and pulling her close against her chest.
