The Great Red Crab Migration 🦀🦀🦀 Every year around this time on Christmas Island, @Australia, one of the world’s most astonishing wildlife events takes place. As soon as the rainy season begins, millions of red crabs leave the forest and march all the way to the ocean. 🌧️🦀🌊 Their journey has only one purpose: to mate and release their eggs into the sea. Scientists describe this as one of the largest animal migrations on the planet, so massive that roads are closed and special crab bridges are built to protect them. Cars have even adapted, creating ‘crab pushers’, to make sure they don’t drive over them. 🚗 What makes it even more extraordinary is their timing.
