@gepaulmerca: St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the “Little Flower,” promised before her death: “I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses.” Countless faithful have taken her at her word. Over the years, many report that after praying a nine-day novena to her, a rose unexpectedly appears—sometimes as a confirmation that their prayer has been heard. Even Pope Francis has spoken of this custom. When facing uncertainty, he asks St. Thérèse to take the matter into her hands and send him a rose. He has received white roses in answer to his petitions; others often receive red ones. The “rose novena” is not a formula for forcing a sign from God. Rather, it is an act of trust and love, rooted in Thérèse’s “Little Way”—doing ordinary things with great love. Those who pray it do so with open hearts, ready to accept God’s will whether or not a visible rose appears. A common prayer used during the nine days is: O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, Please pick for me a rose from the heavenly garden and send it to me as a message of love. O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands (mention your special prayer request here). St. Therese, help me to always believe as you did, in God’s great love for me, so that I may imitate your “Little Way” each day. Amen. Whether a rose appears or not, the novena invites us to grow in childlike confidence and to follow the simple path of love that St. Thérèse taught so well. St. Thérèse of Lisieux, pray for us! #NewsUpdate #CatholicNews #miracles #prayerworks #prayer
