Not on a budget. 100% debt free. We put 100% of my wife's part time job earnings into savings and live off my income. We discuss larger purchases, other than that we spend whatever but obviously within reason.

So I think this is actually a two-part question. Question number one being: do you know where your money’s going? And question number two would be: are you on a budget and/or are you sticking to your budget. I know where all my money goes goes because I use a checkbook register and a spreadsheet. But I’m not following a budget in the sense that I have a specific dollar amount allotted for each category. Do I need to be on a budget and have an allotted dollar amount for each category? Yes, absolutely. It’s just getting there and sticking to it that I struggle with.

Before I met my husband I was super on a budget. Together we are still working to combine our finances. We have a budget spreadsheet and we do discuss a budget or plan. I would say I am more for it and pull teeth to get my husband on board
