StrayPurrs :
Stray cats survive mostly through instinct, adaptability, and whatever they can find around them. They may hunt mice, insects, or birds, search through rubbish for food, or depend on the kindness of people who leave out food and water. They find shelter wherever they can, such as under cars, inside abandoned buildings, in drains, bushes, or other hidden places where they feel safe. But life as a stray is not easy. They have to deal with hunger, dirty or limited water, harsh weather, traffic, injuries, diseases, parasites, fights with other animals, and sometimes cruelty or neglect from people. Kittens have it even harder because they are especially vulnerable to illness, starvation, predators, and accidents. Stray cats also have to constantly compete with one another for food, territory, and safe places to sleep. Still, they are incredibly resourceful and learn to recognize safe places and people, remember where food can be found, and adapt to their surroundings. Some become friendly and depend on humans, while others remain completely feral and keep their distance. At the end of the day, their biggest struggle is simply living with uncertainty—never knowing where their next meal will come from, where they will sleep, or whether they will be safe tomorrow.
