I live in North Carolina and you have to have a permit in order to collect rainwater. We learned the hard way when we got fined $5000 for doing it and they make the permits extremely hard to get depending on what area you live in.

Most people don't understand rain water is cleaner than ground water. With rain water, theirs no heavy metals or other contaminates to leech into water.

We collect rainwater here in Australia. I was talking to a Wisconsin friend and he thought it was “disgusting” and “dirty” lol. Not when it’s filtered!!

Screen in the top of the downspouts will create a blockage. Guaranteed. Screen should be as close to the bottom as possible before the storage tank for easy access to remove accumulated debris. Once clogged, the water will just overflow. Nothing wrong otherwise. 🖖✌️🤘
