The reason the church in Nigeria today has been rendered irrelevant is that it limits itself to the four walls of the building, with zero social impact. RCCG is actually leading the charge to bring the church into secular spaces through social influence, take a minute to look at their latest robotic medical hospital, among other initiatives. Only those with exposure outside Nigeria will truly appreciate the preacher's message. Most of what we practice locally as Christianity is just the doctrinal teachings of general overseers, or at best, a religious idea with no real significance to influence the world positively for Christ. I totally agreed that, “secular is not anything that does not have the name of Jesus in it.” Some native songs have more social significance and drives positive ethics more than some gospel music that lacks moral teachings for social relevance.
