Lol, that just compacts the soil more and ruins your soil health. You need to get the kind that removes the small soil plugs.

OR go rent an aerator from your local HD or Lowe’s for like $70 for the whole day, and save 10hrs worth of manual labor. Considering you only have to aerate every few years (1-2yrs, maybe 3 with a very healthy lawn) it’s not worth owning one of these manual ones.

Thats not a core aerator guys, be careful!!! This makes it worse and compacts the holes more.

This isn’t how you aerate a lawn. Unless you’re pulling out plugs you are just packing soil harder.

the soil that was there..... if you're not pulling a plug out what are you doing to create those holes? oh yeah compacting the soil even more just 1.5 inch deep where the roots struggle to grow the most anyways. good job!
