I live in Ontario … I was the one who loved but also discarded and went no contact because the person I deeply loved and wanted to build a life with, but that person was not real he was fake and I realized what he called love was a lie he was an avoidant covert narcassist and he broke me. I’m healing. Your words are heard!

This just happened to me. 35 years of marriage and I was discarded without an explanation, conversation or effort to make the small changes to stay connected. It’s been the most heart breaking couple of years… and I still can’t wrap my head around how someone can discard another person this way. I have dug deep into myself, my worth and have found some peace. I know I can’t make anyone love me or value who I am. Some people are so lost in themselves that they can’t see the light in someone else. Sorry that you have been going through this and anyone else going through it. I think it is happening so much with people our age? So many layers to this! Thanks for saying it out loud!

I came out of a year-long relationship at the beginning of this year, and I think part of me really wanted closure this time around. I felt I deserved to know why someone I cared about could suddenly treat me with such distance. But I’ve realized that sometimes the way someone treats you tells you everything you need to know about them. The unanswered calls, the silence, the ignoring…..that was an answer in itself. I don’t need to chase an explanation from someone who couldn’t give me the basic respect I deserved. My self-worth means recognizing when someone’s actions are telling me to walk away, even when my heart is still looking for answers.
