According to a report released by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, investigators reviewed witness testimony, physical and digital evidence, GPS records and cellphone data, and the grand jury found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing or a racial motive. The report stated that the location, condition and discovery of Wells’ body were consistent with drowning.
