Even if it’s a pat on the shoulder.. the kids need to know that you care about them and listen to them, appreciate them. That video isn’t a mom cuddling with the child in front of the tv watching a movie. It’s not the same… go watch the post!

Scott :
Let me give you some clarity on that post. Yes you are correct. I’m to love my kids. Care for them. Hug them. Bring them flowers and ice cream when their boyfriend breaks up with them. BUT the mom is the one that will be the one they talk all about it. Because I had to learn I can’t fix everything. And that’s how men are wired. We are fixers. Woman are listeners. So it’s very hard for a men to have that bedside manner turned on allllll the time. Now. I am learning to ask my kids and wife. Do you want my opinion/fixed. Or do you want to be heard before they start with a problem they have. But as a blue collar high testosterone man. We are just fixers. And it takes a lot of brain calories to dial in the listen bedside manner. Woman just have that more than men. They both have there roles. A boy hits my daughter. Boom we got action. A daughter hurt feelings. My wife will be the one to listen. Different roles for different genders. It takes ALOT of work for a single parent to run both roles. You can’t change my mind on that. Something always falls short. Just because a kid needs the firm/loving father. And the kind/listening/loving mother. You use your talents and good traits to your advantage and lean on your significant other to do the things you can’t.
