@markus_marthaler: Most swimmers think good posture in the water is something you either have or don't. It actually comes down to four specific checkpoints, and you can run through each one yourself. Head position first. Look too far forward and your lower back arches to compensate. Eyes down or just slightly forward, neck long, not cranked up. Second, pushing back instead of down. This ties straight into your high elbow catch, push down on the water and your torso gets shoved upward, your core drops low, your hips ride high, and the whole line's out of whack. Third, general tightness anywhere in the chain, hip flexors, lower back, shoulders. Stiffness in any one of those throws the whole posture off. Fourth, and the one most swimmers miss entirely, rotation needs to be equal on both sides, breathing side and non-breathing side. Uneven rotation isn't just a balance issue, it's often exactly where shoulder problems start creeping in. Think of it like building a house. Get this foundation right and everything else holds up long term. Skip it and the rest falls apart fast, no matter how hard you're working. Which of those four do you think is your actual weak point right now?
